Meet Kim McDaniel

Kim is a Parent Coach who has over 25 years of experience working with adolescents and their families. She is also a National Board Certified Clinical Counselor and the co-author (with Dr. Cash) of Video Games and Your Kids: How Parents Stay in Control. Since 2008 she has specialized in the area of digital addiction, working collaboratively with both parents and teens as a coach or counselor, through every aspect of treatment and recovery. Kim has a proactive approach to helping parents develop a family plan for healthy technology use that is sustainable and reflective of their family values.
Kim’s clinical background in family therapy was formed during her post graduate work at hospitals, community mental health clinics and crisis service centers. This led to the opening of her private therapy practice that she ran for 16 years in the Seattle area. She has earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology; and has had extensive training in the areas of parent child attachment and communication.
Kim lives in Southern California, is a wife and mother of two adult daughters. Her favorite pastimes include writing fiction, meditation, and gardening, and sneaking out to get a view of the ocean whenever possible.
